Website Accessibility

Active Violinist is committed to making its website and educational resources usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities.

Our Accessibility Goal

We are working toward an accessible experience across activeviolinist.com and use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a reference for ongoing accessibility improvements.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We do not claim that every page, feature, document, video, or third-party component currently conforms fully to every WCAG success criterion.

Our Approach

As the website is reviewed and updated, we aim to support accessibility through practices such as:

  • clear page structure and headings;
  • readable typography and sufficient visual contrast;
  • keyboard-accessible navigation and controls where possible;
  • descriptive link and button text;
  • text alternatives for meaningful images;
  • responsive layouts for different screen sizes;
  • captions or other alternatives for audiovisual content where reasonably available;
  • clearly labeled forms and controls; and
  • reducing unnecessary barriers to navigation and interaction.

Third-Party Content

Some website functions are provided through third-party platforms, embedded tools, or external services.

These may include scheduling tools, course platforms, video players, payment or checkout services, social-media content, and other integrations.

Active Violinist does not control every accessibility feature of these third-party services, but we welcome feedback when a third-party tool creates a barrier.

Videos and Educational Media

Active Violinist contains teaching and performance videos, including older media that may have been created before current accessibility practices were adopted.

We are working to improve the accessibility of educational media over time where reasonably practicable.

If you need information from a video or other resource in an alternative format, please contact us.

Documents and Downloads

Some older documents, PDFs, or downloadable resources may not be fully optimized for assistive technology.

If you encounter a document that is difficult to access, contact us and we will make a reasonable effort to provide the information in another usable format.

Need Assistance?

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of Active Violinist, please let us know.

When possible, include:

  • the page or resource you were trying to access;
  • a brief description of the problem;
  • the browser or assistive technology you were using, if relevant; and
  • the best way to contact you.

Email: hannah@activeviolinist.com

We will make a reasonable effort to understand the issue and provide access to the information, service, or functionality through an appropriate alternative when possible.

Feedback

Accessibility improves through ongoing review and feedback.
